Michael Owusu Addo, known professionally as Sarkodie, is a Ghanaian rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur from Tema.1 He is widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians in Africa.
Sarkodie’s career began in the early 2000s when he started rapping at local events and competitions. His breakthrough came with the release of his debut album, “Makye,” in 2009. The album was a commercial success and earned him numerous awards, including the Vodafone Ghana Music Award for “Artiste of the Decade.”
Sarkodie’s music is characterized by his witty lyrics, clever wordplay, and energetic delivery. He has collaborated with numerous international artists, including Davido, Wizkid, and Idris Elba. Some of his most popular songs include “Adonai,” “Me Go Kill You,” and “Can’t Let You Go.”
