Omah Lay, born Stanley Omah Didia on May 19, 1997, in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, is a talented singer, songwriter, and record producer who has taken the Nigerian music scene by storm. His unique blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and soul has captivated audiences both domestically and internationally.

Growing up in a musical family, Omah Lay’s passion for music was ignited early on. His grandfather was a musician who played instruments for the renowned highlife singer Celestine Ukwu, and his father was a drummer. This musical heritage undoubtedly influenced Omah Lay’s artistic journey.

Before embarking on his solo career, Omah Lay was a member of a rap group called Lil King. However, he soon realized his true calling as a singer and songwriter. In 2019, he released his debut singles, “Do Not Disturb” and “Hello Brother,” which gained local recognition and caught the attention of KeyQaad Records.

Omah Lay’s breakthrough came in 2020 with the release of his debut EP, “Get Layd.” The EP featured hit songs like “You,” “Bad Influence,” and “Understand,” which quickly propelled him to stardom. Omah Lay’s success has not been without its challenges. In 2020, he and fellow Nigerian artist Tems were arrested in Uganda on charges of indecency. The incident sparked outrage and international condemnation, leading to their eventual release.

He has collaborated with renowned artists such as Justin Bieber and Omah Lay, and his music videos have garnered millions of views on YouTube. His impact on the Nigerian music industry is undeniable, and his influence continues to grow.
