Lady Zamar grew up in Mamelodi, Pretoria, and was raised in a cross-cultural family. Her father is from Zambia, and her mother is South African. Career

She later decided to pursue a solo career and released her debut solo album King Zamar, in 2017. The album was certified gold in 2018 and double platinum in 2019. Her second solo album, Monarch, was released in 2019 and further solidified her position as a leading artist in South Africa.
