Fally Ipupa, often referred to as the “Prince of Rumba,” is a Congolese singer-songwriter, dancer, and record producer. Born on December 14, 1977, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, he is renowned for his smooth vocals, energetic performances, and innovative musical style.
Fally Ipupa’s career began in the late 1990s as a member of the legendary band Quartier Latin International. After leaving the group, he embarked on a successful solo career, releasing numerous hit albums and singles. His music is a unique blend of traditional Congolese rumba, soukous, and contemporary R&B and pop influences.
Some of his most popular songs include “Sexy Dance,” “Eloko,” and “Chaise Électrique.” Fally Ipupa has collaborated with international artists such as Akon, Davido, and Stromae. He is a global music icon and has won numerous awards, including the MTV Africa Music Award for Best Francophone Artist.
