Boy Spyce, whose real name is Ugbekile David Osemeke, is a talented Nigerian Afrobeat musician and composer. Born on May 10, 2001, in Isolo, Lagos State, Nigeria, Boy Spyce has quickly risen to prominence in the music industry.
Early Life and Education
Boy, Spyce grew up in Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos, and attended Lagos State Model College in Kankon, Badagry. He has always been passionate about music and started posting song covers on social media platforms in 2019.
Career
Boy Spyce gained recognition in 2021 after posting a freestyle cover of Wizkid’s hit song Essence” featuring Tems. This cover caught the attention of Don Jazzy, the founder of Mavin Records, who signed Boy Spyce to his label in April 2022. Boy Spyce released his debut EP, titled Boy Spyce, on April 15, 2022, which peaked at number one on Nigeria’s Apple Music chart.
Some of his notable songs include Bad Things,”Destiny Dreams,” and Wayo“. He has also been featured on Mavin Records’ hit songs like Overdose” alongside Crayon and Ayra Starr.
