Zuhura Othman Soud, better known by her stage name Zuchu, is a Tanzanian singer and songwriter signed to the WCB Wasafi record label. Born on November 22, 1993, in Zanzibar, Tanzania, she hails from a prominent musical family. Her mother is the renowned taarab musician Khadija Kopa.
Zuchu’s musical journey began at a young age, and she has quickly risen to prominence in the East African music scene. Her unique blend of R&B, Afrobeat, and Taarab has captivated audiences worldwide. Some of her popular songs include “Sukari,” “Wana,” “Raha,” and “Cheche.”
Zuchu has broken several records, including becoming the first East African female artist to reach 1 million subscribers on YouTube in just 11 months. She has also been recognized with numerous awards and nominations.
