Sephuma’s career took off in the late 1990s after winning the “Best Jazz Vocalist” award at the Old Mutual Jazz Into The Future competition. Her debut album, “A Cry, A Smile, A Dance,” released in 2001, was a critical and commercial success, earning triple platinum status.
