Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, known professionally as Simi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress. Born on April 19, 1988, in Ojuelegba, Lagos State, Nigeria, she started her career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album, “Ogaju,” in 2008.
Simi gained widespread recognition in 2014 after releasing “Tiff,” a song that was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015. She signed a record deal with X3M Music in 2014, but left the label in May 2019 following the expiration of her contract.
Simi’s music is characterized by her soulful voice, relatable lyrics, and unique blend of Afropop, R&B, and soul. She has released several successful albums, including “Simisola” and “Omo Charlie Champagne, Vol. 1.” Some of her most popular songs include “Joromi,” “Duduke,” “Love Don’t Care,” and “Smile for Me.”
Beyond her music career, Simi is also an actress. She has appeared in several Nigerian films, including “Mokalik.”
Simi is married to fellow Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold. Together, they form one of the most popular celebrity couples in Nigeria.
